Some of you may not be aware of DNS. DNS is 'Domain Name Servers' which maps your URL request to respected IP address. When you type a url in your browser (e.g. www.yahoo.com ) the request first goes to your ISP's DNS server, it then converted to some numeric form( e.g. 78.46.1.124).
All this conversion process occur in background and Internet user is not aware of this. So this conversion at your ISP's DNS is sometime be the reason of your slow connection. So if DNS of your ISP is offline then you will not be able to access the internet.
To overcome on this problem, just follow one trick that will help you to increase your surfing speed considerably.
We can use OpenDNS instead of using DNS of your Internet Service Provider. This OpenDNS is more reliable and safe.
To change the DNS address go to > Control Panel >
Then go to Network and Internet>
Then click on view network.
Click on your preferred network ( in this case Wireless Network Connection), Click on Properties, select TCP/IP And Click on Properties again
You will see this window,
Select the Use Following DNS server address radio button, and Type the following values for Preferred and Alternate DNS server:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Now we have replaced ISP' DNS with OpenDNS. This will resolve your request much faster and you will experience sudden increase in your surfing speed.
